I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I had a wonderful break and now it is back to work!
Since I started this blog in 2012, I've been giving small businesses tips on how to cut cost and save money. This year, I have a different train of thought. You've got to stop thinking small and think big. If you want big results, you've got to do big things. Yes you may be a small business but if you want growth and prosperity you've got to get away from the "penny pinching" way of thinking. What is the old adage…Go big or go home! Let's start thinking BIG! That is my advice for 2013.
Stop complaining about not having money, stop trying to get something for nothing, stop whining. You’ve either got what it takes to own and operate a business or you don’t. If you started a business and didn’t think to include a marketing budget, then maybe you don’t have what it takes to be a business owner. If you can't put forth the time, effort and money it takes to really operate a business, then just close your doors and shut it down. Trying to make something out of nothing doesn't work. Billy Preston said it best in his song “Nothing from Nothing” As the song goes, “Nothing from nothing leaves nothing, you've got to have something, if you want to be with me!” But for the purpose of this article, the end should say, “you’ve got to have something (money) if you want to be in business…period!
Mad Lady are you saying I have to be rich to start a business? No, that is not what I’m saying, but I am saying you have to be realistic. It takes money to make money. If you don’t have a lot of money, then you should think in these term - Little money/resources equal little results. More money/resources equal more results. Lots of money/resources equal big results. All I’m saying is, it’s up to you. Your business is what you make it. So in this New Year, 2013, stop thinking small and think BIG!
Happy New Year and it's good to be back!
